TrailBoss 330 (updated) mods for dunning
#1
HI,
I did a search on this subject, and the info I found is at least 2 years old.
I am posting this for my nephew who wants more power out of his 330. We will be taking him to the dunes this next season, and have a couple of questions.
Is there an economical way to open up the airbox and change to a better filter such as a Twin?
His dad was told that there are no slip on aftermarket pipes. I read White Bros had one. Which is true?
He has a Dial-a-Jet installed, and I told his dad that is for going to high altitudes, not for increasing fuel flow for above mentioned mods. If we open up the airbox, and add a pipe, he will still have to rejet. Is this true?
We will be putting on paddles such as Sand Stars. Any other recommendations?
We don't want to put a lot of mods in this quad, because when he gets his first taste of dunning, and gets a little older, he will want a true sports quad anyway.
Thanks for any info!

Call Rick at Ritter Cycle and he'll get the most out of it for you.
Unfortunately, without tearing into the motor, piping, jetting, opening the airbox and clutch tuning is all you can really do. Rick's stage one will cover that.
Give him a call, he's a great person to deal with.

After a stage one kit install a 414cc bore kit , a cam , and a ported head . The 330 becomes an altogether different machine . A 414 will pull the hole shot on a stock 400 scrambler and hold it for 75 feet . Even at 100 yards out the scrambler will only get about 4 bike lengths on it .

OK, thanks everyone, I have sent the info along with Rick's website to my Bro. The Stage 1 looks like it will do what he wants at a very reasonable price.
Thanks again

chips,
I had the FMF megamax silencer and pipe from rick and used A EPI red primary spring, with K&N. It helped alot with power and response. If you want mods for the 330 rick is the one to ask.
