Default dealer cost on recon or best price?

I'm looking to buy a 06 honda recon. Local dealers are advertising them for 2999 but then they want to tack on "freight and setup" of a couple hunderd bucks that isn't advertised once you walk through the door. What are yall picking up your recons for? Seems like the dealers won't hardly budge on the pricing and act like they don't have a markup. The one closest to my house claims his invoice for it is 3199 then he has to pay the guys in the back. I know he's full of crap because I've had another dealer offer it to me for 3200 out the door(tax and title included).

Does anyone besides me feel like a "freight and setup" charge that isn't advertised shady and the dealer should be kicked in the nuts?

Not sure where you're located, but I believe Southern Honda in Chatanooga has about the best prices around (no affiliation other than I bought my Rancher there). Here's their price page, with the Recon listed at $2833 out the door.

They're full of crap. Recons out the door are less than 3000 bucks. Go give him a hard *** blow to the nuts and tell him to f%*k a goat.

around were I live you can get them for around the 2800-3100 range and if you trade in every couple of years you can get your mony back out of it I had a 1999 I paid 3000 for it and two years later I traded it for a 2001 formen 450 and they gave me 3200 for it I was happy to get that. I would also check other dealers for a better price. good luck

Walk in with a check with everything filled out but who you are making it out to for a little less than MSRP. Look the dealer straight in the eye and say "You can sign the title over to me, or I can go somewhere else." then proceed to point to the quad u want. Dont say anything else... if he asks anything just repeat what i told u to say.

Same here muddin! I got screwed if thats the case heh. at about 500, but I didn't really haggle a entire lot. I did get a couple $100 down from what they wanted. a friend went and bought a sportrax and talked them $500 down and a free helmet. I should bargained a little more heh. When I trade this ATV in for a new one I'll bargain a little more. all well you live and learn its still worth every $1 of fun.
