Best way is to dig right in, remove the carb and take it apart. Remove the float bowl and if it has any residue, clean that up, then pull the jets and clean those. Those are the most likely places for gunk, after that just take your time, take pictures of how everything goes together, and pick up a service manual for it if you get in a bind. If it is fairly gummed up, you are going to have to use some elbow grease anyway, miracle in a can probably isn't going to change that.

Be sure to clean your float well ( sit the float in a bucket of gas to see if it floats before putting the whole carb back together, if not buy a new float ) and remove the jets. Take a small straight pin or safety pin and after soaking it in carb cleaner try to push the pin through ( a straight pin is better cause they are thinner ) then blow them out with the air compressor. Also another tip - if it is hard to start or won't start try removing the gas cap. The breather hole may have gotten clogged and if so it won't start. We sometimes play jokes on each other and put little pencil erasers in the breather hose and after about 5 min. of riding they go dead until they remove the gas cap.
