Well, in lamest terms, if torque is the power to start moving, then horsepower is the power to keep moving, but the exact definition is 33,000 ft lbs per minute or if you want to get really scientific it's like 746 watts.

What do you mean? Do you mean torque? Like I said, think of horsepower as the power that is needed to keep moving. Horsepower is mainly the result of rpms, so the faster a motor spins the more horsepower it makes. This is not the only way to make horsepower, this is just the basic rule of thumb.
