For all of you that's familiar with the KTM 525 dirtbike, you know that it's a powerhouse. Well, KTM & Polaris has dropped the engine in the Outlaw for 2007. The 450's was the lastest & greatest thing, but now that the 525 Outlaw will be released, it's an all new ballgame & KTM/Polaris has taken the gloves off & taking the atv world to another level!!!!!

Well I hope its as "bad" as everyone thinks its going to be but until then we can only guestimate. Personally, I would have rather seen that motor in a lighter Predator.
Why do I feel like this Outlaw 525 is going to have a lot of problems? Maybe its because of that high strung, high output motor being paired up with that funky rear suspension..........I dunno......

Sweet - dont get me wrong I love the 700 but the only reason that I didnt go with the Outlaw was because it was way underpowered. With the 525 it will be one hell of a ride on the trails.

The 700 puts out about 38 RWHP as a comparison.

Well I think the outlaw is a cool quad and the KTM 525 is going to be nice improvement but it it is a little premature to be calling it great when only people that can comment on it made it. May just be me but it doesnt seem like the Outlaw 500 went over that well, Ive only seen 2 out on the trails. The new motor will help sales but time will tell how much.
As far as the Hp goes its all speculation at this point. I think if you check some of the other dirtbike engines that made the jump to quads make around the same HP as the KTM in dirtbikes but are detuned in the quads. I wont be surprised if it has more HP's than any other sport quad when it comes out and might be the fastest but I bet it comes in well under 50 HP at the wheels.
