Don't Have a Minor wreck with the SST! 800 bomb
#1
I have been singing the praises of the outty's since the 400 came out, i've done alot of research and have tried to get my friends to buy them instead of AC (junk). So my buddy bought a 800 and the thing is amazing, it will dry out a mud hole! We were out at spring creek here in texas and my buddy let my best friend ride it to follow me to the trailer. On the way back my best friend got the 28" law's in some sloppy mud and tried to get me muddy, well he didnt know that the suspension hooks so well. He was looking back at me to see if i got muddy well, it took off and he hit a tree with the front right tire. He actually climbed the tree and it fell over on its left side. i kicked the wheeler over and stopped the blood from flowin from my buddies head. We got the quad back to the beach and i noticed the right wheel was rubbing the floor board, we looked at the a-arms and they looked good, thats when i looked behind the lower a-arm and the frame is f'd! So that made up my mind to not buy a can-am. He only went about 7 feet. i is great fun to ride though, just dont wreck it!

At some point everything has a yield point. I do feel that the a-arm should have been designed to give before the frame though. If something would not have bent your friend may be in a lot worse shape than as you posted.

this statement in itself is ignorant and border line retarded.....there are way to many variables in your "story" to even concider giving this a seconds thought..
speed, angle, site of impact, wheel turned, tree thickness plus many other things...its physics and inertia coming together...you can snap a metal rod inhalf if you do it right...
people karate chop 2x4's in half with here hands...should we not build houses with them

Has can am strengthened the frames in the later models? i had read about alot of complaints on the matter. Some folks have accidents you know, should lay off em a bit. I agree story could be a bit more detailed.
