I have a kicker, but two of my riding buddies have the electric, and I have ridden may hours on their machines. You have to know the drill (like never touch the throtle when starting it hot!), but once you get it down it's no big deal. Word is that the battery is smallish, and will discharge rapidly (like if you go and leave the key on overnight or something). Another piece of advice I have heard is that you need to ride with your lights on all the time (not a bad idea anyway), so that it constantly charges the battery. System seems highly reliable, so far.

i was also told tha the battery on the 450 is a little weak, but i just got back for the dunes and realized that i left the key on all the way home, wich was 4 hours. still fired right up. i was happy about that. and listen to reconranger, no throttle when trying to start. good luck

After many years of flipping the throttle when I started a quad, it was hard to keep myself from doing it with the 450R. But that is the key to easy starting with mine. I place my thumb on the grip now instead of on the throttle so that I cannot flip it.
I had a leaking oil window, as did my buddy, but I think they fixed that design flaw now.
The HRC Kit adds a significant power boost.
No battery problems. I don't night ride much and I do not ride with my lights on normally.
I am looking for a longer throttle lever because I ride long hours when I do get out. The 05s have a different lever.
No problems really. I recommend it.
