clip position new ?

Default clip position

i have a hmf pipe and my bike is running like crap i have the needle clip positioned on the second grove from the top so my question is do you count it from the flat part down or from the pointy side up i think i have it set at no.4 or no. 2 im not real sure.

my guess would be that it starts from the bottom being number 1 since that will make it the furthest from the main jet and so on

you are running a 175 I have a full system with no lid and K&N and am running a 190 try putting a 180 in and see what happens I had a 185 and was running too lean but I fixed it now and once you get that in mess with the screw that is on the left side of the carb and try turning it if you look into the carb its a very small jet on the left side when sitting on it you may find a difference I think that should do it when i turned mine with the 185 it would backfire the when I turned it with the 190 it was perfect

but does start 1,2,3,4,5 from the flat part down or does it go up from the pointy side up

beacuse i think i have it set at no.2 position its on the second slot from the flat part down

i just have a slip on hmf pipe stock headers i still have the air box installed i just changed out the filter with a uni and thats about it

I am not sure just try putting it at different positions and see what works better

ditto.
the bottom groove closest to the point is #5.
be sure to keep spacers/washers in correct order also, and don't lose any.

for some reason im missing the thin spacer were can i order this spacer thanks for the help.
