Dobeck is a fine controller and probally the cheapest on the market. It breaks down the fuel curve in 3 sections and you can adjust that range with individual dials. This is a good system and if just doing basic mods works great for alot of people.

Power Commander lll is a little more expensive but you have a greater amount of adjustment. These use maps that you can adjust at every throttle position and RPM range. The PC lll taps into your throttle sensor so it gives you better throttle response and they developing lots of other toys that can be connected to it as well (monitor, ignition controller, and more). You have to use a computer/laptop to install the maps. They do have the 3 dials similiar to the dobeck but they are more for a on the fly adjustment verses setting a map.

To me these are the only 2 choices. Most other controllers are right around the price of a PC lll and if you are going to spend that much the PC lll is the best out IMO. If looking for a good controller at a cheaper price then the dobeck is the best choice.
