what are some good pipes for a my 06 350? do stroker kits work well, what i mean is, i know where i can get a 450 stroker kit for my raptor, but just cuz it bumps it up to 450 cc's does that mean ill get the same performance as a yfz 450 or trx 450? and what exactly does an oil cooler do, and about how much are they gonna cost? -thanks alot

 

i also feel like there is no where near enough torque, and its pretty difficult to pop and ride a wheelie, what could i add to give it more torque... and i was wondering if it would just be worth investing in a 660...

 

well to an ser about the 450.. no it wouldn't... and do a litle more research before you buy stuff... a 450stroker kit aint gonna do you any good if you use it in the wrong application...

i'll use myself as an example... i do trails/mx/xc/ where ever i can ride... ssoo i want to build something all-around that aint gonna break the bank..

I am planning(hopefully this winter) a

Stage 1 hotcam
Fresh top end(std bore, if i need a piston i am going to get a 10.25:1)
oil cooler setup
maybe an edelbrok(sp?) if i have the money

I am looking to get maybe 26-27 hp and 25ft lb-28ft lb of torque out of it come spring time with this and the mods i currently have..

oil coolers are pretty self explanitory..... they cool oil
and oil cooling setups usually run $100+

 

If you're already looking for the performance of a 450, then you're best off leaving your 350 stock and trading it in on a used 450. If you modified everything power-wise on the 350, including carb, exhaust, cam, stroker, big bore, ported head, etc you could probably match the power level of a 450, but you'll be spending $2000 just to match the power, and still be falling way behind in the cornering and suspension department.

It's not hard to pop a wheelie because it doesn't have enough torque or power, it's because the engine is balanced far forward in the frame with the intention of holding the front end down. If it's too hard for you to wheelie, either practice or get a different quad, power isn't going to do much for you because of the weight balance. Even with all the mods I have I can't snap mine up into a wheelie as easy as a stock 300ex, 400ex, etc because my front end is heavy.

Depending on if you buy new or used parts for your oil cooler, the bolt-on big bear setup will cost you between $100 and $160. It'll help the engine run cooler, shift smoother, and last longer.

 

Sounds to me like you bought yourself the wrong quad, trade the 350 on a 450. Their is no point in dumping all that money into a brand new, perfectly good running, stock machine all you'd be doing is setting yourself up for failure. When a bike is all modded out like that you get alot of problems so unless you're a mechanic or you have a good cheap mechanic I'd just go get a 450.
