Has anyone had a problem with the motor smoking on long wheelies . this bike is brand new . broke in right. on extended wheelies it starts missfiring .when i set it down and look back to my horror the thing is smoking like a blown motor it clears up . then runs fine. i thought these things were the wheelie kings .

also these 400 honda's are eating me up on the big end . i have heard that the muzzy pipe, k&n filter, jet kit and the clutch kit would wake it up. what is the best combination for a dependable but fast ride.

 

I think that happens on wheelies because oil gets into the airbox. Try dropping the oil level about 0.1-0.25 quarts and I bet that problem will go away. That should still be a safe amount of oil for the motor to run without problems.

If you are just looking for more top end start with a clutch spring. For 30 minutes of your time and about $25 you will have a machine that feels completely different from stock.

And then of course you can get into the other stuff. That 700 engine has tons of potential -- there are guys running 900cc big bore kits on them!

 

Thanks . i have had street bikes do this but never the atv. what would you recomend a muzzy or a DMC alien . also what spring .orange/blue ?

 

Muzzy is the best single pipe especially if you cut the can! but you can get more gains with say an HMF Dual, Alien Dual or Yoshi dual set-up but they will be louder. for a stock motor the best spring would be a EPI pink, for a Piped V that you want to drag a bit with the Orange/Blue is one of the best and after i few rides you wont notice the stall. a 6 degree timeing key will also wake up the V quite a bit and smokeing on wheelies is cause by to much oil.

In my opinion the EPI red spring is a better stock spring than the EPI pink. I have found it to really wake up a stock v force. The stall isnt too high, you wont even notice it after a few rides. Just my 2 cents worth.

 

hey GETUSOME i have some duel alien exhasts and they woke up my kawie alot!!!!! well if u like what u hear in a harley then u will love dmc alienz!!!!lol (NO JOKE!!!!)ummm yea i went threw that problem to dumb 400s where beatin me in top end!!!!!lol but dnt worry just get a clutch spring and that will no longer be a problem!!!!take it 4rm some one that ownz a kawie!!!lol

all i have on my bike is DMC alien pipes jettz, K&N,and duel snorkelz in the air box for more air flow. and thatz it hopefully this week i get my orange blue spring!!!!!!

oh yea the orange blue spring is the best for racing but!!!!!!u need to atleast have a set of pipes!!!oh and the wheelie prob just dnt put that much oil becuz it goes into the airbox!!!! and yesss kawie 700 is the wheelie king and i can prove it!!!!!lol

I like the comet black,,primary spring ,, with 38-stall and 172 shiftout its just right for trail riding and friendly drag raceing...but when i do just go drag race i like the epi maroon spring..
