3 Renegades at Epic
#1
So my buddy has a YFZ with Epic suspension, and he is powdercoating everything. He comes into work this morning and says he was down at Epic and that I would have **** myself. He sai dthe BRP trailer was down there. I told him how Epic had some sort of arrangement with BRP and that they built the suspension for the race bikes. They were working on three bikes... he says "yea they had a few Outlanders with really sweet yellow race cut fenders"... that got me thinking damn those might have been Renegades... so I pulled up a picture of the Renegade and he says... yea thats the bike. He says they appeared to be all done up with exhaust and suspension. My guess is that they are getting set up for Baja, and that BRP is making a run at the title. I know there are sometimes Epic/BRP spys lurking around here.... anyone got any insight.... TPR???????

You don't say there is rumor that the Epic / Can-am team will be running a couple renegades at the baja this year If they don't break they should do pretty good

Ok, Epic assists Can-Am with their desert racing program with prep and suspension work to handle the rigors of those types of races. I'm also sure they will have 1-2 quads in the 1000 this year.
It is no secret that Can-Am is very serious about desert racing and want a good showing at every race, espically the 1000 and Dakar being the crown jewels of endurance off road racing.
What Fat Holley's buddy saw was the Outlanders Epic has been racing with Josh Fredericks this year and with over a year of R&D, they should have all the bugaboos worked out of the Outty for this year's race. Wether or not they have Renegade plastics on them for the race has yet to be detirmined. They seem to have gotten the Outty's plastics race cut quite nicely, and they have become a crowd favorite at the races.
Check out the October issue of Dirty Wheels for a nice photo/writeup on one of these Outlanders and what they are capable of!!
