IMS tank in Black Finally!!!
#1
Looking to get one for this winter, do you need spacers for TM45?? Has any one have this tank and dune?? does it cause any manufering problems in the dunes?? The last time I had IMS tanks were on my 350X and 250R and kinda made it top heavy for quick turning, so I was just asking???

I'm running the TM45 with an IMS tank. Just for good measure I'm using a spacer about half an inch shorter than stock. No clearance issues.

It works well, you'll want to heat up the bottom of the tank (ideally before you put gas in it, or let it dry out) with a torch and make a little extra room. It didn't take me long but you will need a torch and a good hammer. I just made perhaps a 3/8th" indentation in the tank, probably not even 1/2" but it was a couple of years ago and I don't take the tank off much. I love the tank and the carb.

I saw one of these tanks on Scoobs DS. I noticed he had some sort of foam padding between the seat and the gas tank (IMS). Is there any issues of it rubbing against the seat causing some unwanted rubbing and cutting into the seat? Is a 90 degree bend cable a MUST for this?

No rubbing issues whatsoever. I don't think I would use Scooby's DS as an example of anything in relation to a stock or typical mod - nothing on his machine is typical or similar to anything. He probably has a reason to have the padding but you and I wont.
The 90 degree cable sleeve is indeed a must for this setup - when you see it assembled you'll see why. Mainly the Lectron is tall and a vertical pull could only be achieved by going through the gas tank which isn't going to happen.
