Bruin 250
#3
My wife has the 06 bruin. It sits a little lower then my 350, doesnt have 4wd but it still has a decent amount of low end. She has gone through some rough stuff and up some steep hills (in 1st though) its not bad for the price. She just had our first child back in july so hopefully we will be back out riding and I could get you more opinions since we didnt have a lot of time to ride together before she got prego.

I have had mine since last August. It will suprise you with what it will do. Hills you do need to run a very low gear. I have gone throught mud holes that 4x4's got stuck in with water over the racks. For the price it is a great bike.
Check out this link and the other pics in the album. The link takes you to a pic of me with my 6 yr old son in one the holes we play in in WV.

Well we are getting ready to go riding together and actually break this 250 in. My question is to anyone that has a bruin 250 is...
Does yamaha make any skid plates for this machine? The undercarriage is WIDE open and there is only a small plastic bash guard and flimsy metal plate over the rear differential. Where I go riding there are alot of rocks. I don't see how the A arm guards would go onto the 250. It did not even come with a plastic pair. I hope there is something out there for her machine.
Anyone?

i didnt have skid plates on my 250 bruin and i got a hole in the crank case a few hours after riding hard, ehh i dunno if the 350 skid plates fit, but i ordered mine from peterson steel company, i mapped out the skid plates and they made them, works good, only costs me 50 bucks to cover the whole undercarriage. would i recommend the bruin ? ehh not really, its not nearly well built as the suzuki ozark, and im a yamaha fan.
