oil questions pls help

Im about to change the oil in my quad. I use 10w 30 and if it says energy consercving should I use it or get non energy conserving oil.

Dont use it. If it says energy conserving, it means theres been moly added, and theres a link between moly and clutch slippage.
Also modern oils (SH and above) are very low on additives which protect gears. Car motors dont have meshing gears inside it anymore, so those additives are very reduced. But motorcycles have meshing gears, and so do atvs, and they need those additives. Thats why the owners manual, specifys SG and older oils.

You need to make sure you have an oil specifically for ATV's and for wet-clutch applications. If you will be riding where it is hot you could go with a heavier weight oil like a 20w 40. Check your users manual. Sometimes they will recommend options for different riding temperatures.

similar question here. I made the mistake of putting regular automotive oil in my warrior, and then after putting in wet clutch oil, im still getting slippage. will it take a couple oil changes to flush out all the oil thats causing slippage? or do i need to step up to AMSOIL or Bel-Ray synthetics?
