DG fat series wheelie bar???
#1
yea so i recently asked you guys how to wheelie and i was kindly given a link to a whole article on the subject. so i read the article and went out and started doing what it said. i think i some what have it down ok, but i was doing it on the road and happened to go to far past my balance point and i hit the wheelie bar on the ground and it was sparking everywhere . anyways i bent the wheelie bar and it also has two cracks. i need a replacement, and i wnat it to be strong. should i get a DG fat series wheelie bar? or are there any other dominately strong wheelie bars out there? your help is greatly appreciated.

If you have the means and skills I would say build your own. I had a DG and the same thing happened to me, but when mine broke my bike flipped and caused alot more damage, i.e. upper ball joint. I built mine out of 1.5" solid round stock, which is quite overkill but it has never let me down.

what i neglected to mention was that i was in a split wheelie and when my quad started getting out of control i baled it and watched it do a little road rashing and i also bent my upper ball joint on the left side of my quad
i don't think i have the resources to build one... was yours a FAT series? cause if you look on the site it pretty well says that they are the strongest out there( besides custom projects).

From what ive gathered all the aftermarket grab bars (wheelie bars) are designed to be lighter and look cool. Not to be durable and last long. If you wanna get into stunting a another great website is www.stuntlife.com there are some guys on there that make titanium pucked steel grab bars that will last longer than the quad. If your learning to wheelie it really helps not to teach yourself on concrete..... just speaking from experience. The stock one is the strongest.

I think that they are called grab bars because of loading purposes and maybe something to grab on when you are trying to get your quad out of a mud hole. I really don't think that they are made to scrape on the ground running 25 mph with the weight of the quad and you on top of it. If you want a tough one, I would make one out of steel tubing. Chances are it might hold up to more abuse that a stock or aftermarket one.
