Dubach Racing Exhaust
#1
I bought the Dr. D pipe for my Raptor 700 and I heard that anytime you change the exhaust it makes your bike run leaner, is that true?
When I boutht the pipe I asked Dubach Racing if I needed an EFI they said no, that they had tested it stock. They did say if I made an air filter change that it would then be a good idea to add an EFI.
My Raptor has no other performance modifications.
Sound about right? Recommendations?

I have heard that the EFI can compensate for elevation changes, but not aftermarket pipes, or intakes.
However, if they say they tested it and it works fine, then they probably did.
If I were you however, I think I would also open up the intake and get a programmer for the EFI. I can tell you from personal experience, that when you open up those 700s, let them breathe, and install an EFI programmer.......................
All I can say is... WOW!!!!!

I do not personally have a Rappy 700, but DO have several friends who do own one.
I am running a YFZ450, but to answer your Q, we ALL run w/o the airbox lid, however, we all use a K&N pre-filter, and only ride in the dunes, not wet or dusty conditions, so I'd use your own judgement depending on what riding conditions you are in.
The Rappy 700 is one that I am probably going to add to my arsenal within the next couple of years depending on what else comes out in the same time frame.
I have to say, when set up properly, the Rappy700 is an absolute BEAST!

A lot of people prefer to use a foam filter in dusty conditions.
It would appear as though an oiled foam filter is better at trapping the smaller dust particles.
Again, I'd use your best judgement.
