Raptor 700 oil change

Raptor 700 oil change
New member saying hello with a question. I have an 06 raptor 700. I was just wondering if the crankcase oil and engine oil are the same? Is it the same system or is it separate like the honda 450r? The reason I am asking is because the manual says to add some oil through the crankcase oil cap and the rest through the oil tank dipstick hole. Thanks
