Has anyone changed the clutch with an aftermarket one yet?Im thinking maybe barnett but not sure if its available yet.Any help would be great.Clutch went soft on me the other day while in a tight trail while feathering it.Had to wait till it cooled down then it came back.Im thinking a good heavydudy clutch and spring set should tale care of this.

Barnett has Kevlar clutches.

Friction plates: #YPK-13CF (6 required) and #YPK-25B (2 req.)
Steel plates: #YP-15-12 (7 req.)
Springs: #MT-45-5

The friction plates retail for $10 each, steels are $4 each and the springs are $12 per set.

You can reuse you steel plates if they aren't burned up.

Also, from what I understand, the Raptor and Banshee clutch plates are the same, but the Raptor requires an aditional 1/2 width clutch plate. The steel plates are slightly different with the Banshees being slightly smaller in the tooth area. Also, the Banshee uses six springs, the Rapter uses 5. I've got a Barnett Dirt Digger clutch. No problems so far!! It still has an easy pull, but somewhat firmer engagement. It just feels a little sturdier.

Don't you mean aluminum? Or does the Raptor have steel plates?

From the best that I can remember, they looked like and felt like steel plates. Isn't that what the Barnetts are as well? I watched the mechanic clean on them before we reused them and they looked a lot tougher than aluminum. Is this unusual? Maybe I am mistaken?

Does the Barnett Kevlar still have an easy pull?

Yes, it's still fairly easy to pull.

Aluminum plates are typical from the manufacturer, but you never know, they could have used steel...

Steel provides some flywheel effect and doesn't pollute the oil as fast as aluminum will... Aluminum is lighter and will let the bike rev faster.

Yes you can get steel Barnetts, I'm not sure if they offer a choice.

So barnett is not selling a complete kit just selling the parts seperetly???That does not make much sense. Also I heard you had to unbolt the whole engine and move it up to get to the bottom bolts? Is this true?
