hi,i have a 1985 honda 200x that runs great but when i really launch it after the landing it sputters and spits and then i have 2 play with the throttle 2 keep it running,then it will not except more than half throttle.but after about a minute it its fine.could this be a problem with the carb???

ummm,it has done it for as long as i can remember.....i dont get much ride time where i live...and yes when i first got the bike it needed alot of work and i have had the carb apart a couple times for cleaning and new jets.... the carb also leaks when the bike is not running

 

well your float, needle, or gaskit is messed up sence it is leaking when not running. I would also check to see if your main jet needle clip is still in there. It is the little clip in the top of the carb when you screw the top off.

 

ok thx......i most lilkley screwed up somthin in there...its my first bike and first project so its all been a learning eperience for me....but i dont think i did a 2 bad of a job for a 14 year old lol....thx for the help and there will most likley be more questions 2 come
