Default SUNL SLGK-110

I bought a Sunl SLGK 110 Go Cart about 3 weeks ago. The engine has started using Oil (1/2 Quart in 3 weeks) and smoking. I've removed the spark plug and it's black but hasn't completely fauled out. When my son first drove the cart it had a very light smoke taking off but I dismissed it thinking that the rings had not completely seated. Now the Cart smokes all the time and is worse under load. I've also noticed it has constant pressure coming from the crankcase vent. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks,

First off did you change the oil when you got it?

No. The dealer had filled the Kart with oil.

I did see the post smoking SUNL 110. I'll try changing the oil and see what happens.

Thanks,

I have 3 sunl products and have had no problems with any of them. If you did not change the oil when you bought it that will ruin the motor. They come from the factory with oil but is not good to run the oil in the motor for long periods. It is a shipping oil. Thats it. You have to change it to a good oil. You may be ok if you change it now but 3 weeks on the shipping oil is not good.

I purchased a SunL SLA-110KLB which is a newer 2006 model. I have had a few minor problems with this quad but nothing major. Mainly adjusting and cleaning the carb, tighting all the bolts/fastners and using loctite, changining the oil on a regular basis and just constantly checking things to make sure it is safe for my son to ride. Overall I am satisfied with this quad especially since it cost me $800.00 new with local pickup so no shipping charges. I have contacted the dealer a few times to ask some questions with no problems and I even sent an email to SunL regarding the problem with tuning the carb and even got a response. Hopefully SunL is getting their act together...only time will tell...but so far so good for me!
