I just bought a 2003 250EX. It came without the owners manual.

Whats the routine to check the oil?

How do I adjust the automatic clutch?

There is a plug under the seat by the battery thats taped up with nothing plugged into it. What could this be for?

I would give the dealer a call and see if they can give you an owners manual since you did just buy the bike.

 

You found the dipstick on the left side, right??? Warm the engine up, then let it sit for a few minutes. Unscrew the dip stick, remove it and wipe it off, then dip it back in (but don't swrew it!), and that is your oil level. THIS IS HOW YOU CHECK THE LEVEL ON ALL HONDAS.

I suggest you change the oil first thing. Who knows what the previous owner did (didn't even have an owners manual after all). Takes a little less than 2 qts.There is no oil filter to change. Also, for the same reason, adjust the VALVES right away. You don't know how badly it was neglected.
