Default Buying A Battery!?

OK, dumb rookie question..........

I have a 2004 Polaris Trail Boss 330 that needs a new battery. I looked it over and it "seems" not typical -- the kind you could buy at Wal*Mart, etc. Is that true? Do I HAVE to buy a new battery strictly from a Polaris shop, at super prices??
Thanks.

Default Buying A Battery!?

Hello HornedToad. I have been buying Miejer batteries for years now. Their deep cycle batteries for boats and such seem to be as good as any I have ever used; yet they are much cheaper. I replaced my wifes Yuasa battery with with a Miejer battery. The original black Yuasa batteries do not seem to be very good batteries. I am ready to replace mine. I have Miejer automobile, jetski and snowmobile batteries that consistently last 4-6 years.
I hope this helps,
Bryce

Default Buying A Battery!?

HornedToad, I used the Lead acid Batteries for years buying a new one every 2-3 years. Last year i bought a AGM (Absorption Glass Mat) battery, see link to read about the agm battery . Buddies i ride with have had them in there atvs for about 4 years, no problems. There is no vent hole to have to hook up the vent/overflow tube to that hangs down below the atv. These batteries can take more jarring and bouncing than the water and acid fill batteries.i ordered mine from here atv battery .

Hope this helps

I like Decca batts. There made in PA and not mexico like most are these days. I;d also look at getting an AMG. They won't spill and are good for high stress and high impact enviorments. They also typically hold more CCAs per volume.

Thanks for the words on the battery. Now I know more, and know where to go. Cool.

LOL.. Thanks for catching that.. the correct spelling is meijer. Meijer is a retailer like Wal-Mart.

Hello mistertinker. I mistakenly thought everyone knew who Meijer was. They are a large retail store chain. They sell auto and atv batteries in their store. I didn't check to see if they had batteries on their web site.
Sorry for the confusion,
Bryce
