Default 2wd-4wd??

Looking at a 06 foreman that is 4wd that cannot be switched to 2wd. How imp. is it to have the option of switching. Just planning on using it to bomb around in, not a work machine. I will be spending a little time on roads. The dealer said they could install a switch for AN EXTRA $500 CAD. It's an es 350 and they r asking $7300 CAD plus taxes(+$500).

what do ya think?

You must be talking about a Rancher, because the Foreman's have the 2/4wd switch (trax-loc) since 2002 I believe. The dealer is probably referring to a Warn 424, which would give you the 2/4 switching capability.

You are talking about he Rancher 350 (I don't think they use names in Can. like they do here), which is full time 4wd and one solid machine. Yes, the Warn 424 is an absolute must!

Are you aware that the Rancher has had a complete makeover for 07???? Stuff like fuel injection, selectable 2wd/4wd, and a bigger 420 engine........and for only $200 more than the 06! So, the 06 model you are looking at is obsolete. Either you should get an absolutely fantastic price on the old 06, or just wait for a new 07!
