question about honda fourtrax rear differential
#1
I need a new rear differential and axle setup for my 95 honda fourtrax 300 4x4 . I was wondering what other rear ends were comptible with this year model such as foremans also. I have a rear end out of a 89 foreman 350
thanks

No rear differential swaps with the TRX300. The old 250 models were close enough that you can use a couple pieces, but the main parts you will need arent compatibile.
Any TRX300 rear diff will fit yours, but if you decide to go new, get one for a 99-00 model. They were made in the states rather than Japan and are several hundred dollars cheaper than the older model versions. The only change they made was the seal on the left side. If you go with this version, you will need to also buy the washer that rides up against that seal. It runs about $7.00 The late model rear end will set you back about $600.00 depending on the dealer.

Have you found a differential yet? Do you have your old differential case, I can rebuild it for you for $409.00. If you have already purchased a different one are you willing to sell your old case so I can have extras. thanks mike email is mnjhartke@effingham.net

two things to look for:
1) a thread that isn't 5 years old, and
2) a used parts dealer...there are lots of them online and in DIRTWHEELS and other ATV magazines.
the 300 is a good machine and there were a ton of them made.
