Default Rancher vs Rancher AT

Questions for anyone who has been there. Trying to decide it I should go with the base Rancher 4x4 or step up to the Rancher AT.

Opinions or comments from others. If you have the AT how do you like it? I have owned the Rancher ES so know what I am getting with the base model. I am wondering if I would be better off with the AT version.

the base rancher is awesome if you dont mind shifting manually. The 400AT lacks low end power at times from what i've heard, and the automatic trans has issues. I would personally go for the base model, but that's my own opinion, you could go to a dealer and ask to test ride both and decide for yourself too.

my cousin in law has the at
and its horrible. if u go to slow when u shift it jumps. ocasionally riding it will get stuck in gear. and won't get out of it. get a quad where u can use the left pedal to switch gears. any quad thats automatic is a snowmobile with 4 wheels.

Are you aware that the Rancher 350 gets a complete makeover for 07????

Bumped up to 420cc, fuel injection, selectable 2wd/4wd, disk brakes, etc., and for only $200 more than the 06 (still way cheper than an AT!). So, why in the world would you even give the AT a second thought?

Was not aware of the makeover. Where do you get your specs on pricing etc?

Didn't sound like you knew about it!

For some reason, it is the only 07 they don't have up on their web site yet.

I have a 400AT. It is not horrible. It is extremely smooth. It does not have "gears" to get stuck in. It is fluid drive.
That said, I would wait for the new 420 Rancher.

I dont understand that comment. "Snowmobile with 4 wheels".
I thought they were belt drive.
Honda does not use belts.

I have a guy with an 05 has 4200 miles on it. HAS had 0 problem with it, bike is flawless in everyway except towing.

as stated it does not have low end grunt to pull anything. other then that it is perfect bike. there is no issues with the AT except the first year which need a ecm reprogram or replace, but like said above i would wait for the 07 rancher
