Default Skid plates For a 2006 foreman 500

I'm looking for a set of skid plates for my 2006 foreman 500, any suggestions what to get and where to get them. I do a fair bit of travelling along rough rocky trails and i can't stand the sound of rocks slamming on my frame.

those 2 sites should have a good selection of skid plates for you i have had good experience with moose skids on my ds650 but majority of them should be a good selection just pay for the thicker skids if you really hit alot of junk up underneath of the quad

From what I've read they are the strongest on the market. They make the thickest swingarm plate available!

I got the moose skit plate kit for mine and they look awesome. I was going to get the aluminum products plates because they looked real good, but they were twice as much. I talked to a couple different companies and they said that aluminum products have just been raising their prices. So I ended up ordering the moose kit for about $180 and was very impressed of how they looked.

what did your kit include for 180bucks?

I ended up manufacturing my own chassis skid plate. I made it out of stainless steel, might be heavier than aluminum but it will handle a good pounding.

So now i'm only looking for swing arm and A-arm skid plates. I may even be able to make up my own A-arm plates if someone had a good picture or drawing of one for me.

I might as well just buy the swing arm plate. Buy the time I wear out several cutting discs, get stainless steel wire for my mig welder and add up the time it takes it will be just as cheap to buy one I'd say.

for $180 I got the front plate, then the bottom plate that attaches with that and runs all the way back to where the swing starts. I really like the looks of the kit myself. I looked at the aluminum products, but it was just tooooo expensive.

You mean the Honda Foreman doesn't come with factory skid plates on them ? I thought all atv's came with factory skid's on them, my first Honda was a 86' trx 350 foreman full time 4x4 it was the model with the heavy straight axel front end with full skid's from the front all the way back to the swing arm rear axle ! I thought all the utility 4x4's my 93' suzuki KQ 300 4wd and my 2006 Arctic Cat 400 auto fis 4x4 all came with full skid's front to back from the factory. Oh well i guess Honda stopped putting skid's on them so they could make more money some way, because they are bullit pruff they weren't making enough off their quad's.....................williebee

The forman comes with skids, they're just not up to the abuse of a good aftermarket one, plus they dont cover the entire bottom side, mostly around the differentials and the engine. I'm fabricating new ones out of 1/8" diamondplate steel for my forman.

there was nothing but plastic protecting my engine.

it's a great feeling now knowing that i can slide along a rock without damaging my frame or motor.

get the swing arm and a-arm skids and i'll be all set.
