I see a train wreck if all the slandering keeps up, Ive delt with 99% of all DS650 aftermarket companies, Here is my take on it ALL........I have always voiced my opinion and opposed HPR (and other builders) a few times in the past before I saw #s and proof of HP claims. I always said Id have to see it to believe it with the power they claimed they made thats with any company for any product, I admit I thought the race head was too expensive TILL I SAW IT and what it looked like and what it did. Well, Long story short, I was a believer when I tested stuff on dyno and also when Big mike put his HPR 730 on one of our LOW READING dynos and hit the high VERY respectable #s... That was huge to me and a big break through. I ALWAYS have bragged about the hpr lectron 48mm and ugly stick as well, Also their lightweight piston that I threw on the digital scale and saw the difference and was very happy with HPR. Just like when I put the ugly stick on the dyno as well as the Lectron 48 and saw the rev speed and torq difference I was happy. I went and spent the money on the dyno years ago and it showed what made power and saw it for myself thats why I run it. YES off the shelf parts can make a bike fast, But once I integrated the HPR drag pipe and Lectron and piston with some off the shelf parts thats when the bike came alive. Proven on the hill and on the dyno. After seeing the race head I was even more impressed as well... I dont see where all the conflict is. Horsepower research has dynoed and done the R&D on more products than anyone in the industry and gets bashed for it, so what if they are proud of what they have done (they should be). I have seen proof on the dyno and thats what made me a believer and I value their opinion. I just hope They keep testing and arent ran out of the industry!!!!!

A few years ago ALL of us begged for someone to come along and step up to the plate and go crazy with the DS 650 motor. Randall and Eric, And Glenn come along and GO CRAZY and now there are people who seem to not care about that. The ol ron woods stage 3 wasnt cutting it and they stepped up to the plate and inovated BIGTIME for the BOMBARDIER 650 Owners.


SO MY QUESTION TO ALL THE PEOPLE IS.......... If HPR dissapears, And ONDUNES dissapears, Are yall gonna be HAPPY the average guy cant get an FREAKIN END CAP, Light parts, ALL THE STUFF AVAILABLE NOW MIGHT not be???????????? THEN YOU WILL BE THE HERO's RIGHT once they get tired of the slander?????????????????????????????? You say there too expensive, But once you have a bussiness you understand it costs for R&D employees, shipping, Taxes, IRS, BS ETC. It might be more clear!!!!!!!!!

I hope you all are looking at the big picture!!!!!!!!!

I post this on behalf the future of Bombardier ds 650 aftermarket parts, What will we do for the guys with the stock bikes when they ask questions for upgrades? The selection might be grim. What will we do when we cant get the drag light parts we always dreamed of. No one cares that Glenn put the products out there available for everyone's access. I guess the bashing has clouded minds of people seeing the big picture. I hope All the BUILDERS and inovators stay in the bussiness. Good Job guys!!!!


BTW- It really gets my goat that DSNUT and the HPR crew insist on having their motor taken apart and spec'd out by TRACK OFFICIALS for Bore and stroke JUST to have it as a defense/proof JUST incase someone claims it wasnt stock bore and or stroke and start rumors!!!!!!!!!


I had a good friend call me today and ask me what he should do with his stock DS, I asked him his budget and what he wanted to do, I just hope I will still have options to give to help a brother out... I also hope the builders I speak of stay in bussiness so all the new DS owners will still have more options like we ALL wanted years ago.


Also, In the last 3-4 years I have sent people who have PM'd me to every builder out there based on how fast they want to go and their budget. Im not taking anyones side here but I am concerned about the future of custom parts ... Anyone else care?

Back to the topic at hand. . .

Did I miss some drama? Is HPR talking about getting out of the business? ODP?

I've had an issue (one) with HPR - nothing they did to me personally so, said my piece and I'm done (not even going to discuss it again so, don't bother trying to stir me up.)

I too get people asking which way to go on a build and ask about their budget, overall goal and then I try to get a feel for them - if I don't already know them - and then push them to one builder or another depending on what they say and I think they aren't saying about what they want. The tough thing is to try to look out for their best interest, if you know that high compression piston and cams aren't going to be enough for them and somehow get them to do things that are in-line with where you know they will ultimately want to end up.

Without knowing where all this is coming from I'ld tell you KMS is another one that has been bashed on here. I have only seen with my own two eyes a 110% commitment to customer service from KMS.

Same for TVI - Gary's been bashed on here - He's been great to me and I really haven't spent much with him.

Ron Wood - say what you want - they do what they promise. Don't get mad at them because they don't offer what kits you wish you could have. Their products have been the basis of design by others out there.

Team Pami - Like Ron Wood, an innovator on this engine - Probably less bashing than just not as much kudos where they are due - I wouldn't want to see them out of the business either.

Unless there is something I'm missing, I doubt much of the bickering that's occured on the forums is really going to get someone that is making money in the industry to quit [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-confused.gif[/img]

 

MArio, I would have to agree with you there. When people are just making things up and trying to hurt you then there are problems. It does not even have to be a business, but just the ragular joe out there having a good time as in DSNuts case. Those kind of things should not be how the world works.

This may have sounded wierd based on me being called out for between the lines disliking for HPR. But I do agree that they have helped revolutionize the DS, that is not in question by me, and if you want my opinion is the reason they are openly attacked. The best always are. Look at it this way, do you ever read anything in the tabloids about some struggling rocker that nobody knows??? No, not until they hit the big time are they open season. (Not sure how you qualify though Ron [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/img] ) Does it make it right, no....But it is reality, yep.

My comments placed else where may be iltimed with all the crap going on, but needed to be said. The pedestal they were placed upon by everyone here crashed them hard, and I was very upsetted by how I had been personally treated.

I agree with you, Alot of them dont get credit. I had a ron woods EVERYTHING we all did year ago and some do now. They build and make great parts for the ds. But as far as the envelope being pushed is my issue. I dont see Eric or Randall post here and I asked why and I hear that they dont want to get pounced on. Maybe they think its not worth it. Looking at the big picture is what Im doing. We wanted to push the envelope and they did just that. IMO.. And I think ODP might not be around for long from what I hear, That and other builders I mentioned might get discouraged as well. I hope not!

 

Brent- Thanks for your input... I understand you have had an issue, I have too in the past but I jumped to a conclusion and it was me kinda being a hard head... I then spoke with Randall on the phone and we cleared the air like men and he has been solid every since. I hope you can do the same.. I guess no ones perfect.. I hope we all can move forward and get faster with forum help.

I'ld agree with HPR, it isn't worth coming on here. You can't win an argument on the internet and if someone decides to stir the pot you are screwed! You respond, You lose. . . You don't respond. . . you lose. . . Best solution = stay off the forums.

Sad to say because ANY of these builders have a bunch to offer. . . including Marky.

You know.... I look at the forum everyday, or just about everyday. And yes, things have been a bit slow and prior to the slow down, we looked more like the yamy forum than the DS forum. I agree with many of the comments and commend Mario for the post. At the end of the day, not having HPR is something that we will hurt the DS community in a big way. I really don't think that people understand what it takes to R&D the parts they offer. The money and time involved are, well..... inconceivable.

As far as "running it's course"..... Choose, I've tried to stay neutral when it came to you and I've bit my tongue for no other reason that I'm just trying to be a nice guy. You post when ever there is a crack in space to be negative, to be hurtful and to be a fly in the ointment. I don't really understand what you hope to achieve. Leave HPR out of the equation, you're just a jerk and an E-bully. I have never, in 4 years said that about another person on any forum. But man, I just don't get you nor do I think you are a nice human being. There never seems to be an objective comment, a nice thing to say.... NOTHING. Your war with HPR may be legit, or it may just be a personally thing you have with Eric or Randall. But if you don't like it.... simply don't say anything at all. Then again, maybe your last comment refers to the HPR Bashing has run it's course.... If that is the case, I still think my opinion is solid and fair. We don't need to be friends or aquaintences. Really means nothing to me. You are one of maybe 2 or 3 on this forum who make life miserable for everyone else involved. Shame on you, and get back to the good book - read it!!!! I too have held HPR to a high standard in the past. Called them out when I thought there was a foul. Like Mario, I put that to the side and watched, learned and looked for the proof. My motor certainly hasn't run it's course, and I put my bike on the line. For a full duner, it's one of the fastest bikes out in our little dune spot we call Dumont. Still together and still running like a scalded ape. Seems that all I ever hear from others is a lot of bench racing, excuses and or lies. For all that Mario is or isn't, he's put him self on the line. Given his shirt off his back, and stepped up like a man in many instances. What have you done lately? (and that's not directed towards Choose). What have you done for the DS community? Have you helped people? Have you spent countless hours on the phone actually helping a brother out. Really help? Have you spent countless hours on machines building motors and trouble shooting for nothing more than a thank you. I have, and I've put my time in. I've contributed to this forum and it's members without ever calling someone to the matt personally. Guess that all changed today. Might have even got the thread closed. But enough is enough. If I'm banned from this forum..... then so be it.
