Whats the best way to clean a K n N filter?

I've been cleaning my K n N air filter by letting it sit in soapywater and then letting it just sit in regular water, but I always find that theirs still dirt on the inside of it. What should I do?

get the k&n filter recharger kits, follow the direction and you cant go wrong

Plus, you do have to slosh it around, too. The soap and water makes the particles of dirt soft and slippery, but the motion makes them move away from the mesh.
