I have a 99 400ex in the manual it states that the oil change is approximatley 2.3 quarts but after reading.. http://www.atvriders.com/articles/oilchange400ex.html it says that its 1.95, and after reading people saying different things/ Can someone please help me with this. I wasnt sure if the newer models took less beacuse of the reverse gear or what.. Thanks

 

I run service for a honda franchise. Ill look in the honda spec manual tomorrow for you

 

I put 2 qts. in mine with a filter change.

 

oil capacity after draining and oil filter change is 1.95 US qts

That is out of the honda spec manual. It doesnt come any more accurate then that

 

Hey thanks so much man.. I just didnt understand why the owners manual says 2.3 but oh well. when i changed it 2 weekends ago i put 1.95 warmed it up checked it and it was almost to the top line on the dipstick. But thanks for your time.
