Default Sad, sad day :(

Today there was 10 of us went out for aggressive ridin through the trees and cutlines. We were about 10min away from the trucks when i caught i stump goin down a hill. The stump made my DS ramp into the air. My friend behind me said the DS did 2 flips in the air, and slammed into the ground front 1st. Surprising for ridin in 4th gear and how fast i was goin all i see so far is wreaked nose, bolts are shear off of front bumper from impact, light, metal bracket for the front. I will investigate the rest later. The DS started up on 1st try and runs great still. Luckly all i have is a sore tailbone Some pics will be posted of our adventurous day 4 those interested.

RIDE SAFE!

Whenever someone complains about how heavy the DS is I wonder what a YFZ450 or 450R would have looked like after a crash like that?

My buddy was right behind us coming down a whopped out trail, two of us get to the bottom he SHOULD have been right behind us....we wait, wait...were like, OK something is up......a few minutes later he hits the bottom of the trail, falls off the bike rolling on the ground. Apparently he jumped a few whoops going downhill and got airborn, he said the quad went into the air and bounced off a tree and rolled two or three times down the trail.....the only thing I noticed was the dirt in the controls but aside from that, if he had never told me I might not have known, he didn't fare so well.

Yes, the DS is very heavy. Also they are i believe they are the best and strongest built. My friends say if it was any other sport quad, it would'v been a write-off. Ill have some pics in 20min.

I hit a raised man hole cover in some tall grass along a levee, didn't see it until I was RIGHT on top of it, anyway, BANG loud as heck on the front tire. I stop and check it out, the tire is completely popped and I though for SURE there would be some damage to my a-arms but nothing at all, just the tire popped and I wasn't going slow or slowing down hit it pretty damn hard and scared the heck out of me. Those Baja rims are tough as hell cause it didn't damage or bend them at all. The only damage it's taken on was a very slightly bent steering shaft from flipping it over front first.

Thats exactly what i thought, there would be a lot more damage. Drawback from havin the older DS is not havin the reinforced rims.

The Baja rims suck anyways...mine are bent to almost complete junk on the inside and make the wheels wobble a little bit. My old stock warrior rims never bent once and they werent even reinforced. Glad to hear you are ok and the ds is half alright.
