My sons 90 TRX has no spark,he was riding and then he shut it off, then half hour later it didn't start.I pulled the plug and tried to start it - no spark.It's a 2006,Has anyone had this problem with a 90 TRX.The fuse is good,It's not getting spark to the plug.Is it the CDI box or the stator.Any help would be great,and where can you get the parts to fix it(besides honda)

Ok, on the left hand side of the bike look forward from the petrol tap and you should see an earth wire. It is fixed by the same bolt that holds the black front mudguard stay bracket. I have six TRX90's and have had this problem many times, it is the earth wire to the coil and if not tight will kill the spark...good luck !

 

Thanks for the help ,but I could not find the wire.Their are 2 wires going to the coil from the wire harness.What wire are you talking about.Is the earth wire a ground wire.If you can give me more info it would be great,Thanks.........bronco94

 

Yes it is a ground wire, but it is not obvious that it comes from the coil. If you locate the black front mudguard stay that runs from one side of the quad to the other you will see how it bolts to the frame. It is the left hand side where the stay bolts to the frame that you should see the ground wire. Is it definatly an 06 ?

It worked like a charm.Thanks I would have never thought of that(the ground wire).I'll think I will put a lock washer on it.Thanks again you saved me a trip to Honda $$$$.Would you know what the bolt pattern is or what other rim will fit the rear of the TRX 90
