I hear if you always run on reserve that the gas gets harder and faster suckesion and gives a little bit more power. Any truth? Can it hurt anything by doing this?

Running on reserve all the time almost guarntees you will be walking for gas one day. your carb has an accelator pump on it, so I think you would have consistant presure no matter which position you run the tank valve except the off position.

If you are looking for a mod that doesn't cost anything, take off you airbox lid.

Make sure your throttle cable is adjusted properly. It has been said that as much as 30% increase in power can be obtained from the prpoer throttl eadjustment. I dont know if that is true on the new models though!

How would I check for correct throttle cable adjustment?

I took almost 1/2 inch of slop out of my throttle cable. It let me give it more gas = more speed.

Your thumb throttle should have about 3/8" of free play. If it has significantly more (>1/2"), you're probly not getting WOT at full throttle. You can adjust it by pulling the boot on the throttle cable back and screw the cable end in or out.

Do not pull off your airbox lid unless you want to rejet.

It will run lean.
