grizz vs new HO
#1
Was just wondering, does the HO keep up with the Grizzly, i haven't raced one yet, all i know is i can smoke any other sport/utility out there a quad with shaft drive just incase someone thinks the Srambler is a utility maachine. I hear it will do the same as the grizz, but i bet i beat him on take off easy, why i'm 200lbs lighter. Let's get some HONEST opinion's.
2000 Grizz with 2500km's and not a hickup, just hard on fuel.

I have a 2000 grizzly and sp500ho. I raced them against each other last weekend 3 times. This is what I found. The ho and griz stayed together for th first 30 yard, however, the ho started to pull away by a quad length or two after that. We only got them going to around 50 mph. The ho stayed out in front by about the same length as at the 30 yard mark. However, the grizzly has 27 inch blackwaters so if we would have continued on past 50 mph it may have caught up due to the larger tire diameter. The sportsman is new and hasn't really been broke in so I don't know how accurate it would be. Just my 2 cents.

Sorry for the confusion, i meant excluding chain drives, on take off i meant against the HO because of the weight factor, It`s almost 200lbs heavier than a grizzly.
By the way the xplorer is 2 stroke eh guy! And the scrambler is a sport bike.

I have a 2000 grizz, My friends have the following, xplorer 400, 2000 kodiak, (2) 99 sp500
and an ho sp500. Off the line the grizz will beat all of these,....very close. Both the sp500 and ho 500 will pull away after half a mile or so. The xplorer has 26" blackwaters, he lost alot of power with those.

Your acceleration would be slowed down big time with those heavy 27" mudders on the Grizzly.People can say what they want ,but the 100cc advantage the Grizzly has over other Utilitiy bikes is one large advantage.

When it comes to the SP 500, i have raced a few and have killed them, they do go but not like a grizzly. I've never raced the HO though. The kodiak is quick but i destroy it on the long haul. 200CC advantage will do that on 4 Strokes.

Ummm, it appears Xplor and monk01 are having trouble reading this post. yam8 is not including the Scrambler in his comparison since it is not a true sport/utility due to its chain drive.....
"i can smoke any other sport/utility out there a quad with shaft drive just incase someone (read monk01 and Xplor) thinks the Srambler is a utility maachine"

I am trying to understand your point. Everybody knows the grizz is a fast machine. You obviously know an Xplorer will be faster than a grizzly since you excluded it by saying no chain drives allowed. Since when is a 2-stroke quad a sport quad. Last time I looked the Xplorer was a utility Quad, its not even a sport/utility according to Polaris. Then, mabey, you are worried about those awesome 2-stroke "sport" machines such as the Badger 80 or the Sportsman 90
A spho weighs 698lbs and a grizz weighs 600lbs 698-600=98.
