Default Can-Am 800 takes 2nd at Vegas 300

Well, it looks like the Can-Am 800 is starting to show it's mettle. The Can-Am/Epic 800...(Now sporting Renegade plastics) took 2nd place at the BITD Vegas 300 last weekend. They were in a battle with BITD and SCORE champs Wayne Matlock and Chad Prull, till Tony Baker took a spill. They were able to still recover to take 2nd place with no failures on the machine.

This is pretty much the final tune up for the Baja 1000 and they are very encouraged with the progress the program has made so hopes are high for a good showing in November.

LOL yeah, it wasn't first, but there has been alot made about wether this should be used as a race quad, and this finish is a testament to the work they put in.

The winning quad ridden by Matlock and Prull was a Honda 450r....they have been very dominant this year.

well it is pretty much the strongest machine in reliability, speed, and best riding that wins so high hope for the bomb can't wait to see a renegade in the baja its prob similar to what the epic outty is...do you have an idea of how bigg cc wise the 450 is and what mods or if you have any pics as I just got one and want to mod it a little and need some ideas

A month ago I thought they did not have a chance at the Baja 1000. But all the money Can-Am as put in too there trophy quad they might win. I just wish they had used a DS650 engine it would be 200 lbs lighter.

I'm not sure what cc the American Honda/Alba quad was, but I don't think they go hog wild on the motor. I know that the motor Wayne ran in his Z-400 was somewhere around a 470.

There will probably be a couple of Renegades at the 1000. The one Epic runs is really the same thing in the DW article with Renegade bodywork. They may run a relatively stock one too a-la Mike Penland last year on the Outlander.
