Default Using the Vortex CDI?

I have some questions about how to best use the Vortex CDI .The handlebar mounted switch has the (map1) and (mapx10) on it and i want to make sure that i understand the functions of both.I am assuming that the (map1)is for a pre determined and set curve that will remain the same and will be accessed always by the (map1) position and the (mapx10) is used for the adjustable curves that are set with the indicator dial with the arrow on it?Am i correct that (map1)will always be the same and the adjustable curves are to be accessed from the (mapx10) switch position?I would rather ask than guess so i would appreciate any input from Vortex users.

Yes you are right... map 1 is the most advance and rev, map x10 is whatever setting you have on the dial.

FYI: Unless you are going to be changing programs, you don't even need the switch. If you unplug the switch and take it off it will default to map 1.

Yes the Vortex is still 400.00.The vortex is without a doubt more expensive than other CDI units but the ability to adjust the rev limit and the torque curve appeals to me enough to justify the cost.

If you go to go parts direct and get a quote from them you will save a little bit of money on the Vortex. But It took about a month to get the part. Not sure if the money you save is worth the time it takes to get it, But if your not in a hurry try them.
