Somebody correct me if Im wrong but after thinking about it and talking to a very good freind, and VERY EXPERIENCED racer, that a new record has been set at The Clash of the Titans. Shawn Drake's (Drakester) OEM stock bore, stock stroke DS650 (piloted by Rawyfz1973) ran a 4.43 on what appears to me and everyone Ive talked to be an offcial track. The track had two staging beams a pre stage and a stage beam. Which is the same as the Planet Sand Races, to which Ive been told. To my knowledge this is the fastest time by any ATV in this class.

Huge CONGRATS to Drakester, Rawyfz1973, and THEBOM on this new record.

 

Yea great job guys. I don't think there is anybody even close to those numbers. Very impressive.

PS: Times have been compared and verified between tracks with guard beams against the track at the Island and they are within a tenth. Thats close enough to call it official. [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/img]

OK, OK....call me stupid, but what exactly are gaurd beams? One person said without gaurd beams it is possible to jump the stage beam with your front tires and the time wont start until your back tires cross the line. That doesnt make any sence to me because with a pre stage and a stage, once your front tires break the second beam, your staged. Once the beam is unbroke and a solid beam again the time starts. So weather you wheelie and go up, or launch and go forward your allowing the beam to reconnect, which then the time starts. If you were to roll forward to reconnect the beam before the green lights came on, you would ofcourse red light. RIGHT????

I have another question aswell. In this last years race, did the Planet Sand track have gaurd beams and is the Planet Sand race considered "officail".
