I raced a few Raptors while at Glamis and was quite impressed! He would get me outta the hole very time, which I expected, but what I did not expect was that I would be getting beat until I hit fourth, then I was gone. His machine was stock while mine is not. So to answer your question, I think a stock Raptor will beat a stock Banshee by a few lenghts at the end...

I raced my stock Raptor against my friends stock Banshee and beat him by a few lengths in an 1/8 mi. drag race. I raced against a guy who bought my old Banshee (FMF Fattys, rad valves, cool head, boost bottle, wiseco pro lites), and he beat me by two lengths. That sucked. I must say that I think the Raptor could be brought up to the same performance with the same amount of money or even less. (Those Banshee mods cost about $1000).

Ive seen a TON of raptors out at the dunes. They are fast. the one place they get beat bad is running the hill. Big sand mountain is 700 vertical and no production model 4 strokes can run with the 2 strokes in the big bowls and up the steep shoots. I havent seen but have heard that in the dirt its a different story. I have a 400ex and a banshee (i picked the banshee over the raptor by the way.)and confess they both have stong and weak points. lets just say my paddles never come of the banshee.

If you keep both in a mild state of tune the Raptor is the winner. But, the Banshee has definatly more hop up potential because it is a two stroke. I have seen Banshee's bored and stroked to 700cc. There is no way one can make a Raptor that wicked. They are both greatb machines but the the Banshee is the king of the hill shoots.

I have a raptor and everything they have wrote is true. On just about any flat surface a raptor will take a banshee. Now on hill climbs its a whole new ballgame. I got beat time after time but some of that is I only have about nine hours on my raptor. I lost to banshees and 400ex's but I saw another raptor there and he had had this raptor three months and he was beating alot more bike than I was.

why would you keep a banshee stock?? You can buy a new one for less and put the $1300 into porting , pipes, coolhead etc and have well over 60 hp
