Does anyone know if anybody is working on or already manufacturers an oversized desert tank for the 700r? I know it has a top mounted fuel pump instead of a fuel petcock. Maybe this is the problem or whatever, but I have not been able to find one on Clarke's nor IMS' site. Any suggestions?

If you fine one please post it here. I am looking for one as well. The tanks are so small on the 700 it is not funny. I go to Utah every year and I hate the gas problem they just don't carry enough. IMS is what I would love to get but they don't make the tank yet and I can't seem to get a reply from them [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif[/img]

 

I'm investigating it as well, as I need a desert tank for a race coming up. I contacted Clarkes and they said they do not make one and they are not aware of anyone else who makes one. IMS wouldn't win a prize for their customer service, thats for sure. Everytime I try getting ahold of them they never return my emails or calls. I may have to resort to having a custom one built. Let me know if anyone finds anything out.

 

You gave me the info I was looking for. I was still waiting for an email response from Clarke. IMS said due to the frame and plastic designs, that they will not pursue a tank design for 700r either. I guess we are SOL.

Lets hope IMS makes one then. I have got no answere to my question yet about the tank but I keep sending e-mails and calling. I will also check into a hand made one from a friend of mine he is a good welder and we could get one out of aluminum. I know he made one for a honda 250r three wheeler and it worked great I will let you know what I fine out.
