I am a newbe to this site and have a question.

I hope someone out there can answer. I have come across a 1981 Honda XL 500 s ATC.

I 'm told by many that Honda never made any thing bigger than a 350 x which I have two of.

I was told the individual who bought this new was in Japan in the Military and when he returned he had it shipped back. It is titled and has blikers and mirrors and I am told is street legal.

Can Any body confirm this????? Did Honda make these only for the Japanese market??

The serial number is on the bike along with the model.

never heard of it, but then again '81 is about 4 years before I got into atv's. Have you tried some of the trike specific websites? I would be curious to know if yours is production too. I love odd things like that[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/img]

 

Well I would DEFINATELY like to see a picture!!! I had a 350X for a while and loved it...........let's see what this 500 looks like!!!

 

From my research, the only thing I can see is that Honda made an XL500S motorcycle from 79-82'. I cannot find any information about a three-wheeler. Please Please Please Please send a pic!!

 

I stoped by Saturday after work to look at it again and the owner wasn't home so I took a peak any ways. I left a message on his phone and still waiting to hear back. I checked the steering neck and it says 1981 Honda XL 500 S on it. And he says he does haver a title and that its stret legal.

 

A google seach of Honda XL500S turns up a dual-sport bike! Maybe this trike is a conversion?
Honda XL500S ATC turns up nothing.
