Default 700R Pipe and Commander?

A buddy of mine is getting ready to buy a 700R. 1st thing he's going to do is get a pipe and commander. There are alot of choices out there, whats everybody finding out to be the best. Sound is an issue, don't want it too loud. Does a slip on work, or will he need a full system?

Any advice??

Thanks

My .02 is that on most thumper applications there's not $20 worth of difference between stock headers and aftermarket ones, but hey whatever floats folks' boats. Do a search on 700 Raptor pipe tests, you'll find a magazine article that was done last year. Not the best test protocols but better than just straight people's opinions. Looks to me like the CT pipe was lightyears better than everyone else in regard to making more power across the entire rpm range. They knocked it for loudness but it wasn't insane loud and it comes with discs you take manage i.e. take some out = quieter sound.

As for boxes I think the good ole' decently priced Dobeck box is very adequate. If he's going to do crazy mods down the road than maybe a PCIII would be a better choice but for the average guy that's gonna do the 3 basic mods there's no need to go expensive or complicated.

Again, just my .02.
