2wd Renegade already in use?

They just took all the 4x4 stuff out to make it as light as possible. It will be raced at the Baja 1000 next Thursday. That will put it to the ultimate test.

Yeah, but I can't imagine they would make this set up and not market it.........Could help drop the price some and what does 4WD add/subtract weight wise? 50lbs?

I really can't see them marketing a Renegade 2x4 as this would put it as more of a sport quad and it would just be to heavy. If your only going to be in 2x4, then why have one that weighs over 500lbs. It would be like the V-force. It's not a very popular quad, but does have a following, but not many use them. For many it's way to heavy to be a sport, yet for others it doesn't have a 4x4 option either. At the races there are much more 4x4 that race then V forces.

That is the modified Outlander they used for R&D work for the Renegade suspension

Looks like a Renegade to me, plastic and all with the front differential removed.

a strip down differential is there. they removed the insides and axles. They need the differential case to keep the frame together. they have been running as a Outlander all year this race they bolt on Renegade plastics and call it a
Renagade when it is custom one of, race Outlander.

The Renegade is a stripped down Outlander to begin with. The front bumper/frame is not the same in this pic as the outlander and it has the Renegade type footboards as well. ON the Outlander the frame wraps all around the front of the quad up along the fenders down to the front bumper. Handlebars and rear fenders are different in this pic from an Outlander. This is more of a stripped down renegade then a stripped down Outlander IMO. I know this is the model they have used for racing but it is the same frame as the Renegade.

According to BRP web site, that was the Renegade in it's first race and not the modded Outlander. They said they entered the race to get it preped for the 1000 and see what would be needed. Getting a podium was something they were not expecting. They will be racing this same quad on Thursday at the Baja 1000.
