okay, iwas ust ridin the blaster for a bit, everything was goin well until the bike started to rev up really high and started smoking, luckiny i was holding in the clutch.. i immediately hit the emergency off switch and the thing kept revving up. so then i pulled out the key and it took about 10 seconds for it to stall. my heart is pounding so fast becasue it soundinglike it was going to blow. its not my bike, i just rebuilt the top end for my buddy so if anything happens i dont want it to come out of my pocket.
what are some reasons why it started revving up like that, and why didnt it stop when i hit the switch/ key. all of the wires are connected correctly. im terrified of that little thing now hahaha.

You might have a airleak somewhere base gasket, head gasket, carb boot. That might explain why the blaster smokes . when you have a air leak they may run erractic rich or lean and they could rev to the moon. An easy way to check is to start and idle it. Then get some carb cleaner and spray it around the base gasket, head gasket and carb boot.If the idle speed changes you have a leak.
When they start revving like that turning the key off is useless because they get hot and ignite themselves.

i called a dealership and one of the mechanics said it was becasue its too lean, and it could be too lean becasue the jet wasnt upgraded when a new exhasut and aftermarket was put on. the smoking is becasue it was burning trans oil. i know this becasue i jsut filled it up with fresh oil a couple weeks ago and now its very low. so im going to put in a new seal and bearing.
