400ex carberatour question
#1
I have a quick question. I knowticed that theres fuel dripping from the carborator (Chamber set). Its not consant, but its also not suppose to drip. This started happening a few days ago. Haven't ridden it for about a month. I wonder if the screw loosened. I also knowticed a tube that isn't connected to anything. Its the black tube by the choke. Thanks for your help.

That hose is just a vent,
The hose that comes off the float bowl, is a vent and an over flow tube. If the float allows the float bowl to over fill, the excess will flow out that hose, and the screw can not shut that off. That float bowl screw only shuts the drain function.
Youve probably got some crud stuck inbetween the float needle and its seat, which is allowing the float chamber to over fill.
A simple thing to try...put the over flow tube in a can, open the drain screw, and allow gas to freely flow out the tube..then rap with a screw driver handle on the side of the carb. You might be able to dislodge whatever is hanging up the needle. If that doesnt do it, youll need to remove the float bowl and manually clean everything inside there.
