97 300 express timing???

Default 97 300 express timing???

had to rebuild my 300 , rod, crank bearings, piston ect. i put the stator back in and tightened down where the witness marks were. this thing seem to have alot of detination now. how can i ck and see if i am out of time or is there such a thing. help help help....

Most likely you problem is a lean fuel mixture instead of your timing.

When you rebuild the top end of a two stroke sometimes you have to play with the jetting.

ditto definately check the jetting as well as sometimes the hash marks move a tad when tightening down the stator plate you may want to check it out.

Default 97 300 express timing???

i took the cover and flywhell back off, i didn't see the pointer and the scribe on the stator the first couple of times it was apart but it is almost dead on. is this a factory mark? i pulled the spark plug and noticed it was only set at .011 and should be .028. also i deleted the oil injection on this thing because i roached two pistons in ten miles, would that have anything to do with this detination noise? if i was going to try and time it with alight how would i ck it? remember this thing has been aprt 3-4 times with me knowing about the scribe mark on the stator??
