Just got a grizzly 700 and looking for new tires. I hunt mostly, but trail ride about 5 times a year. Right now i have narrowed it down to itp mud lites. Anyone have any suggestions?

 

I'd recommend 26" GBC Dirt Devils. They will last longer (more miles) and are more puncture resistant than the ITP Mud Lites...

 

2TV, i see you own a grizzly 700. Do you have any info on easy performance mods.

 

Mine is completely stock except for the tires and it will probably stay that way for the time being. One would probably get the biggest gain from a performance exhaust system and an FI programmer but I don't know if any are available for the new Grizzly yet. I won't do that to mine since I don't want to make it any louder (unless someone comes out with a performance exhaust that is as quiet or quieter than a stock exhaust)...

I asked amechanic at the dealership, who also just bought the 700 Grizzly, and he put on the GYTR slip-on pipe. He said that there were no noticble gains in performance, just sound. I plan on keeping mine stock as it's mainly my wife's and she doesn't like loud, obnoxious exhaust...like my Banshee or Tecate.

 

I've got the DirtDevils on my Kodiak and they are a good tire, BUT if I had it to do over again I'd go with the Maxima BIGHORN radials. Now there is a great tire for just about everything. I'd recommend the dirtdevils over the ITP mudlites cause they wear a lot longer but I'd go with the bighorn over the DirtDevils. Check out mine in my photos. they are a mean trail tire.

 

I've read the Bighorns are an excellent all around tire. The Mudlites are supposed to have changed the compound to the M/S's for better wear.

 

27" 589s always work great for me...

 

i run 26" gators and am very happy about the way they work. they are a little bit heavier than the mudlights but hook up way better in the mud and snow. If you are concerned about a weight issue just skip lunch.

 

Thanks for the helpfull info. Ive seen two tires i didnt even know about. And i like them both. I guess if there is no overwhelming reason to go with one or the other than a man has to go with looks. And in that case i still dont know. I think what im wanting is a magical way to out do my buddies 750 brute force. That information would be priceless.
