My friend just got his 300ex jetted, piped, new piston, board out, etc. He thinks he hits the rev. limiter really fast now. Does white bro. sell one like they do for the 400ex. Will it raise it 1000 rpm. What is stock on a 300?

 

Come on somebody must know. Does a 300ex even have a rev. limiter? Maybe that's an easier question. Does a Warrior have a rev. limiter. I ride a warrior and a 400ex, I know the ex has one does the 300.

 

the 300ex has a rev limiter but im not sure what it is set at. i do believe white bros sells a "fixed" rev limiter also.

 

i think the RPM limit is around 8,000

tell him to pick up a used 250x one..it will work great

its about 1,500 RPM higher

 

some people say that there rev limmiter is set 1000 rpm higher, but every race shop i call say that they cant do that.All they can do is get rid of the rev limmiter

 

I believe the rev limiter kicks in at 9100-9200 rpms.
The rev limiter mod is a simple E-PROM software change that is done too your CDI box. The limit can be raised or lowered by any amount. The most common choices are +1500 or unlimited. You could make your EX rev +52rpm, if you wanted too.
If a race shop does not want too take the time too explain things too you, then they do not deserve your money anyway.

 

if that is true about the 250x cdi , i will get one of those because i know were i can get one now. Ive never heard that a 250x cdi has 1,500 extra rpm but i really need it because my 330 rev cuts in real quick!

 

I don't believe the 250x black box is the same.
I blew the counter balancer out of the front of my 300ex, and put a 250x lower end in it to keep it lighter for racing and I had to put in the 250x black box. four stroke tech does the black box mod for $75.00 call them at 814-842-6159

 

I think that all the black box mods for a 300ex are just unlimited. I have done quite a bit of work with them and never heard of a raised RPM rev limiter like the new 400ex boxes are. If somebody knows who makes one like this, please let me know.

 

I believe the CStark has one on his 300ex. I think he got it from TC Racing. Maybe he can tell you more about it.
