Running in ?

Here in the states, we call it break-in. Read this: http://www.mototuneusa.com/break_in_secrets.htm
See my comments here: http://www.thumpertalk.com/forum/sho...d.php?t=437751
I noticed in another post that you said you had ridden it some already, so it is probably to late for you to take advantage of Motoman's method, which is designed to seat the rings properly. Maybe next time?????
Do change your oil and oil filter frequently during break-in. I use a petroleum oil (Honda GN4 or Maxima Premium), and change them after 1 hr (to get any metal shavings out of the engine), then again at 5 and 10 hours. Then I change to a synthetic oil (Maxima Extra, ester synthetic).
Some good basic info on oils: http://www.thumperfaq.com/oil.htm

When I break one in, I ride it just as I normally would. I just try to stay off the rev limiter for the first hour. Then, change the oil and filter, check the plug, and ride on.
I think all that heat cycling crap you hear is a bunch of bologna. I have never had a problem w/ one I have broken in this way.
If you want it to be fast break it in fast.
