Default Tighting the chain!

I just picked up a 87 250x for running around the woods. Great bike. The chain is alittle sloppy and needs to be tightend. I can't see how to do it. Am I missing something? Thanks....

On the rear of the swing arm there is 2 pinch bolts. May need a 6mm allen wrench. Loosen those 2 bolts, and then you should be able to turn the adjuster. On the left side of the swingarm there is a piece of aluminium that is more or less round. That is a cammed adjuster. If you twist it towards you, it should tighten the chain. It may be frozen and take alot of force to get it moving. Try to move it back and forth to free it up. If it will go forward but not back toward you, you are out of adjustment. That would require a new chain.

there are three bolts on the 250x/300ex carrier. you must loosen all 3 in order to adjust the chain. two allen bolts and one regular bolt in the middle. once those are loosened follow the instructions above

That middle bolt only stops the cam from rotating all the way. It can be left tight to adjust the chain.
