Only 6 month warranty on Renegade!!
#1
Just got back from my dealer as I knew the fall warranty promo ended on the 30th of Nov. So I went to see what the new promo was for the winter. Well they broght back the 3 years again, but only for the Outlander. The Renegade is being put in the same class as the DS650 and only 6 months. Now the Renegade is mostly a Outlander with a few differences, so it should have the same. But BRP feels that the Renegade will sell reguardless of the warranty. Well I have one on order, but will not take. $9000 for only 6 months warranty isn't for me. Yamaha has 2 years on everything, AC has 3 years, and Polaris promo in my area is 2 years. So it looks like I will have to wait, or maybe get the 525 Outlaw.

Why change your quad style/type preference just because of warranty? If you want a Renegade then you must want a 4x4 with auto tranny, the outlaw is a manual shift 2 rear wheel only quad isn't it?
does yamaha really warrant sport quads for 2 years? that's amazing, I never knew anybody would warrant a sport quad for that long, especially Yamaha, who raped thousands of people with their faulty '01 raptor tranny. that's cool if they are, but too bad they won't go retro-warranty on those '01's and reimberse the vast #'s that had to dish out over a grand for tranny rebuilds right after their warranty died.

I wanted a irs sport quad and the Renegade and Outlaw are my only choices. I don't mind shifting as that is what I did this year on my 500. I was set on the 525 as it's $2000 cheaper and 200lbs lighter. But with the 800 having 4x4 as a plus and a 3 year warranty (I thought since it's basicly a Outlander) the price difference didn't seem as bad. But with Polaris offering a 2 year warrenty, then the Renegade only 6 months, well that just puts the gap way to far. I can get a Outty for $7800 with a 42 month warranty. $1500 into the Outty can do a lot and still have the warranty.

is that the standard warranty or maximum available (for a price)? with most jap machines its a short period when you buy it but you can purchase an additional "extended service plan" from them. Is Can am the same way?
my 450R only came with a six month warranty but i bought an extra 3yrs for about $500.

The warrenty that comes with the Outlanders is 6 month std warrenty with a 30 month ESC with a 50.00 dollar deductable, after the 6 months, they are only offering it for a sales promo.
The Renegade is considered a sport/race quad, that is why it is only getting 6 month warrenty and also they will sell without the ESC.
